Project

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Farnesina Contemporary Art Collection, Benedetta Carpi De Resmini has been commissioned to create a traveling exhibition at the Italian Cultural Institutes, with the aim of promoting Italian artists abroad.

The project, titled “Identity Beyond Borders”, explores the relationship between humans and nature, focusing on the concepts of identity, conflict, and coexistence in a world marked by environmental crises, globalization, and social changes.

Promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the project consists of three exhibitions that will be held at the Italian Cultural Institutes in Berlin, Vilnius, and Valletta. The first exhibition will open in Berlin on June 19, 2025, followed by Vilnius in September, and will conclude in Malta in June 2026.
Among the selected works are pieces by some of the most important artists of the Italian contemporary scene from the past 50 years: Carla Accardi, Letizia Battaglia, Elena Bellantoni, Tomaso Binga, Silvia Camporesi, Gea Casolaro, Sarah Ciracì, Martina della Valle, Loredana Di Lillo, Paola Gandolfi, Silvia Giambrone, Ketty La Rocca, Maria Lai, Elena Mazzi, Rä di Martino, Mario Merz, Elisa Montessori, Laura Pugno, Agnese Purgatorio, Marta Roberti, and Marinella Senatore.

The selected works offer various perspectives, creating a dialogue between art, nature, and society. The aim is to stimulate an alternative vision of harmonious coexistence, opposing policies of dominance and exploitation. The exhibition journey invites reflection on relevant and current issues, such as resistance practices, the fractures caused by separations and migrations, and the ecological instability that characterizes our time. A distinctive feature of the exhibition is the intergenerational dialogue, which promotes the comparison of different artistic sensibilities, enriching the debate and offering new interpretations of the contemporary world.
